Air Cargo Demand Increases by 3.2%
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released global air cargo data for January 2025. Measured in cargo tonne-kilometers (CTK), demand
grew by 3.2% compared to the same period last year, marking the 18th consecutive month of growth. Meanwhile, available cargo tonne-kilometers (ACTK) capacity increased by 6.8% during this period.
Regional Breakdown:
🔹 Asia-Pacific led with a 7.5% increase in demand and 10.9% rise in capacity.
🔹 North America saw a 5.3% rise in demand, while Europe recorded a 1.3% increase.
🔹 The Middle East experienced an 8.4% decline in demand, with capacity dropping by 1.2%.
🔹 Latin America posted the highest growth, with demand surging by 11.2% and capacity rising by 10.6%.
🔹 Africa saw a 3.4% decline in demand, while capacity increased by 5.4%.
